Notes on Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 1.

1. In which we get a You know nothing, Jon Snow, Neverending Story slash A Whole New World Edition.

2. Don't forget that Season 1 Episode 1 ended with Jamie pushing Bran from the top of a tower. Compare with the ending of S08E01.

3. Why was Bran waiting for Jaime anyway? Petty little things like vengeance and retribution are so beneath Bran now, so he must be planning to use Jamie for something important?

4. I love how S08E01 began the same way S01E01 did--with a young boy climbing up to get a better view of the arriving royal entourage. He even sorta looks like S01E01 Bran.

4. That new opening sequence is as exciting as the episode itself! It's like a mini puzzle to solve.

5. War elephants? Cersei, you really need to watch the movie 300, girl! Oh wait, YOU STARRED IN 300.

6. Are the showrunners just getting lazy? They just keep on referencing past episodes instead of writing new scenes. Do they just want to reward the fans who still remember all the episodes, so they can gloat about how much they know about the show?

7. Sansa and Tyrion, I'm still shipping you. After all this time. Always.
